SEMARANG – Institut Karya Mulia Bangsa (IKMB), currently transforming into Agung Putra University (APU), has received praise from European institutions. Germany's Hochschule Albstadt-Sigmaringen University paid an official visit to the APU campus and SCCR Indonesia's laboratory facilities on Monday (January 26, 2026).
The visit aimed to directly observe the research capabilities of APU and SCCR Indonesia, particularly in supporting their vision of transforming into a global university.
Interest in Life Sciences
Head of the International Office of Hochschule Albstadt-Sigmaringen, Dr. Conny Bast, expressed her admiration for the research facilities in Semarang. The primary focus of the targeted collaboration is the life sciences.
"I must admit that the laboratory facilities at SCCR Indonesia are extraordinary. We hope to soon implement student exchange programs, professor exchanges, and internship programs for German students at APU," said Dr. Conny Bast.
International Atmosphere
Responding to this interest, Prof. Dr. dr. Agung Putra, M.Si.Med., Founder of SCCR Indonesia, emphasized that APU is creating an international atmosphere on campus. One concrete step is establishing English as the primary language of communication for the entire academic community to facilitate collaboration with partners such as Germany.
"We are determined to become an international campus that focuses not only on teaching, but also on research and product creation, with a strong entrepreneurial spirit," said Prof. Dr. dr. Agung Putra, M.Si.Med.
It is hoped that this cross continental collaboration will produce real innovations that benefits wider community and strengthen APU's position in the international higher educations.
