Strengthening Global Networks, Agung Putra University Welcomes Malaysia and Germany

SEMARANG – Institut Karya Mulia Bangsa (IKMB), currently under transition to Agung Putra University (APU), has taken a concrete step toward becoming a world-class institution. On Monday (26/1/2026), Agung Putra University (APU) officially welcomed delegations from two international universities: Universitas Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and Hochschule Albstadt-Sigmaringen University from Germany.

The visit, held at the Agung Putra University (APU) campus and SCCR Indonesia, aimed to explore strategic collaborations in research, student exchange, and broader academic development. As an initial step, Agung Putra University (APU), SCCR Indonesia, and USIM signed a Letter of Intent (LoI).

A Vision to Become a Center of World Civilization

Founder and Commissioner of SCCR Indonesia, Prof. Dr. dr. Agung Putra, M.Si.Med., affirmed that APU was established with a vision to become a global campus that builds civilization, not merely a conventional educational institution.

"We are committed to becoming an international campus that goes beyond teaching alone, but is also strong in research and product creation, driven by a resilient entrepreneurial spirit," said Prof. Dr. dr. Agung Putra, M.Si.Med.

To support this vision, APU will cultivate an international atmosphere on campus, including establishing English as the primary language of communication for all academic staff and students.

Strategic Collaboration and Global Capacity

Rector of Agung Putra University (APU), Prof. Dr. Denny Nugroho Sugianto, S.T., M.Si., warmly welcomed the collaboration initiative and offered a range of comprehensive partnership programs. "We welcome this opportunity and propose several areas of future cooperation, including academic collaboration, research collaboration, student mobility and short programs, faculty collaboration, and capacity building," said Prof. Dr. Denny Nugroho Sugianto, S.T., M.Si.

International Interest in Agung Putra University (APU) and SCCR Indonesia's Research

The interest from international partners comes for good reason. Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at USIM, Dr. Ainuddin Yushar Yusof, acknowledged that the research reputation of SCCR Indonesia and the global vision of Agung Putra University (APU) were the primary draw.

"We have been monitoring SCCR Indonesia's research developments since last year and immediately saw the potential for collaboration. We hope that moving forward, this partnership will bring benefits to all parties. We also feel that USIM is well-aligned with Agung Putra University (APU), given the many study programs that can be developed together," said Dr. Ainuddin.

A similar statement was expressed by the Head of the International Office at Hochschule Albstadt-Sigmaringen University, Dr. Conny Bast, who conveyed deep interest in SCCR Indonesia's capabilities and APU's vision, and expressed hope that a multi-party collaboration could be realized in the near future.

"Our university has a strong focus on life sciences, which is why I traveled to Semarang personally to see SCCR Indonesia and Agung Putra University (APU). We hope to establish collaboration soon; starting with student exchange programs, professor exchanges, and internship opportunities for Hochschule Albstadt-Sigmaringen University students at SCCR Indonesia and Agung Putra University (APU). I must acknowledge that the laboratory facilities at SCCR Indonesia are truly outstanding," said Dr. Conny Bast.

Through this international collaboration, Agung Putra University (APU) is expected to generate innovations that benefit society at large, while strengthening its position in the international higher education landscape.
