SEMARANG – Agung Putra University (APU), under transition from Institut Karya Mulia Bangsa (IKMB), continues to strengthen its international network. On Monday (January 26, 2026), APU received an official visit from a delegation from the University of Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) at the APU Building and SCCR Indonesia Facilities in Semarang.
The meeting focused on exploring collaboration in research and academic development. As an initial commitment, APU, SCCR Indonesia, and USIM officially signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to initiate the strategic collaboration.
Focus of Collaboration and Global Vision
APU Rector, Prof. Dr. Denny Nugroho Sugianto, S.T., M.Si., offered various comprehensive collaboration programs to USIM.
"We warmly welcome our valued partner institution and offer several future collaborations, such as academic collaboration, research collaboration, student mobility and short term programs, faculty collaboration, and capacity building," said Prof. Dr. Denny Nugroho Sugianto, S.T., M.Si.
The Founder and Commissioner of SCCR Indonesia, Prof. Dr. dr. Agung Putra, M.Si.Med., emphasized that this collaboration aligns with APU's vision to become a center of global civilization through research and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Research Reputation a Key Attraction
The Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at USIM, Dr. Ainuddin Yushar Yusof, acknowledged that they have been monitoring SCCR Indonesia's research reputation since last year. "We believe USIM is highly relevant to APU because of the diverse study programs that can be collaborated on," he said optimistically.
